There's only one explanation for this week - I suck-diddly-uck. No fear. I plan on chaining myself to the drawing table all weekend - I'll have the Thursday and Friday strips done, and hopefully well into next week. Until then, my sincerest apologies.

Go and buy Al Franken's new book, Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them. It's Al Franken, so it's probably funny, but more importantly it's illustrated by "Dandy" Don Simpson of Megaton Man fame. It's some of Don's finest work in years.

Mood: still irritated with myself

I actually manged to update the missing Thursday and Friday strips for last week... Click the left arrow to check 'em out.

This marks the first appearance of the Japanese Beetle's roommate in the new series. Keep in mind that he's his roommate, and not a cartoonist. Why the change? There's only so many times you can break the fourth wall before it becomes a lazy crutch and a poor substitute for humor. I think I'll keep my walls intact - or at least, more intact than most strips.

This Friday I'm off to DragonCon. For those of who who are going, I'll be speaking on the "Webcomics: The Future of Comics?" panel, at 10 PM Saturday in the Piedmont Room. The panel's been put together by KittHawk of Sparkling Generation Valkyrie Yuuki, who will also be participating.

Sounds: Saint Etienne, "He's On The Phone"
